The Minnesota Undergraduate Linguistics Symposium (MULS) is an annual student conference which promotes the study of linguistics by undergraduates in Minnesota and surrounding states. Each year MULS meets at a different college or university in the state, and students from around the area gather to present their research and to socialize with other linguists. We are excited to host the 5th annual meeting of MULS at the University of Minnesota Duluth, on Saturday, April 22.

There will be several student presentations, a poster session, and three faculty talks by Professor Chongwon Park, Professor Ted Pedersen, and Professor Michael Sullivan.

We are very grateful to the Department of American Indian Studies at UMD, the Alworth Institute at UMD, and the College of Liberal Arts at UMD for their generous support, which allowed MULS 2017 at Duluth to happen.
